Lost in the World Video Questions

1.) The general premise of the video is that the world is caught up on their phones. By them being on their phones is makes them unaware of what is happening around them. Another big part of it was social media and how it affects people and their judgement.


2.) I believe it is effective because it moved me and made me understand what is was about. I did not watch the video and wonder what it was about or anything like that.


3.) I feel like it is more of an examination of our society today. Because majority of people can not be without their phone for more than 20 minutes. Social media is a big reason why society is the way it is today.

Describing Photographs

Glass Water

It is an image of a man in a canoe, that is in the water. When it gets to the end of the water, the water turns to glass that has broke apart. In the background there are trees and you can see the rest of the lake from where he came. The viewers attention is focused on the water that turned to glass and broke in front of him. This picture makes me think about the red tide. I think of the red tide because of the dead fish that are in the front corners of the picture. 

Ice Sleigh 

This an image of a man pulling a sleigh with frozen fish, over snow. In his other hand he has a chainsaw. In the background you can see the sky go from blue to light pink. You can also see trees and the icy ground continuing all the back. The viewers attention is going to be on the chainsaw that is in his hand because its a brighter color. The picture makes me feel dark because of all the dark colors and the mood of the photo. The mood comes from the dead fish in ice on his sleigh.

Shoe Race

This picture contains a pair of boots with a man standing inside of them, with a muddy field. The field has circles carved into it. The show prints cover part of the field showing where the shoes have been. I think the viewers attention would be towards the show that does not have the tiny man inside of it. I believe this because of sun behind the shoe making it glow and pop more than the other. This picture makes me feel like i should clean my shoe and watch where i stand and step.

Face Punch

This picture contains a man punching his face with his fist. The picture is very neutral with a lot of tan and grey coloring. The guys shirt is stripped causing it to catch my eye right away. After i really look at the picture you notice that the guy is punching in his face. This makes me wonder why is he punching his face. I feel that this might be caused by his frustration with himself. 

Night Doors

This is a picture of two doors that are wide open with light coming through them. A man that is in a robe is walking through the doors with a cup of something in his hands. The background is the night sky that sort of looks like a galaxy. This picture makes me think of sleeping walking. Or also when you walk from your room to the bathroom for instance. The first thing that will catch ones eye would be the light coming from the doors.

Long Fall

This is a picture of a biker that is looking down a steep drop on the road. The picture is very bright because of the grass and trees being bright green and on both sides of the picture. This picture makes me think of when ur sitting on a stool or on a counter and you have to jump down. The picture has a main focus on the big steep drop. The mood comes from the thought of falling down the drop and dying.

Electric Clothing

This is a picture of a woman on a ladder that is leaned on telephone lines. Also in the picture is clothes that are hung on the telephone lines as if they are meant to dry there. This reminds me if i was driving down the road and you see shoes hung over the lines. This is a bright picture because of the vibrant colors and lack of darkness. The main focus would be on the lady that has the ladder resting on the lines.
